You may be thinking…

Extensions what’s all the hype about?

  • I was you… I thought extensions were “high maintenance” & only for women wanting hair down to their waist.

Here’s the hype… that’s actually is not the only case. Extensions fill out haircuts, add density, length, & give you the perfect color. We have amazing options that take about the same amount of time to apply as a normal color appointment.

  • Anyone is a candidate if you have healthy natural hair growth. I require a consultation to ensure your natural hair will be able to hold the weight of an extension.

  • I became a true believer about 5 years ago when I wore my first set of Tape In extensions to fill in gaps in my haircut around my face, they were easy to hide, & just the right amount of hair.

Then I ventured into Hand-Tied & that was a game changer… I had the length, density, & color I had always wanted. Best of all, it held my waves for days, created the perfect pony, & kept my natural hair healthy.

I have always used Clip In extensions for events & special occasions, it’s been a perfect temporary fix to create those full braids or up-dos that everyone wants for just an evening.

Extensions seemed to solve majority of my hair concerns. So I dove into education on every brand I could find who did hands on learning.

I specialize in extensions because I love the instant gratification you get in one appointment. It truly changes your confidence when you walk out with your dream hair!

  • This is a factor with extensions that I am very transparent of because I understand it is a luxury service.

There are up to 5 main costs associated with most extension methods. It’s an investment, but I do like to explain why - some of these costs may not apply to everyone.

    1. Hair cost - ethically sourced hair is expensive because it’s high quality & lasts 8-12 months with proper care.

    2. Application cost - I pride myself on ensuring no one will know! Natural looking, comfortable extensions require education & experience - which I ensure with each application.

    3. Color/Cutting/Treatments - for your hair to blend & look natural, we have to make sure we are applying to healthy starting point, so I may also recommend a color or treatment. This isn’t always necessary but is something to consider!

    4. Professional products - Extensions are color treated & typically a coarser texture which requires slightly different haircare. You also want to have high quality products to ensure your hair lasts as long as possible.

    5. Maintenance cost - other than Clip In extensions, Tape In & Wefts are semi-permanent methods, meaning they stay in your hair as it grows out. Every 4-10 weeks we would remove the bond, assess your scalp, & reapply close to the root again. This cost is lower than the initial application but required for all extension clients.

Extension Methods

Check out all the details of each method. Investing in extensions is a big change, I like to be as transparent as possible!

Clip In Extensions

  • A set of temporary extensions that will help with style & hold for any special occasion. They will add length & density.

It is attached to your natural hair by gently teasing the root area then clipping the wefts into the teasing for hold at the top of the section.

Amount of hair needed depends on the desired result most styles require 2-8 Clip Ins.

  • Ordering hair takes about 5-7 days with the option to do rush shipping if needed.

They take about 15-20 minutes to apply into your hairstyle.

  • Approximate Hair Cost: depending on length & amount of hair.

A typical average for a set is $127 (at the shortest length 15”) up to $450 (at the longest length 23”).

    Consultation & Application Cost:

$100 - We will do a color matching consultation first to order the hair then we set up a follow up service once the extensions arrive, to blend the extensions, teach you how to apply them, & style them into your hair!

They can also be added on to a Signature Blow-Dry Style or Specialty Style for $30.

Tape In Extensions

  • This method is a semi-permanent option for anyone wanting to fill in gaps in their haircut or add density throughout.

The extension is applied at the root by sandwiching your natural hair between two extensions.

It is attached by surgical adhesive at the top of each extension. Upon removal, the adhesive is dissolved by a color safe solution that breaks up the adhesive.

  • Ordering hair takes about 5-7 days with the option to do rush shipping if needed.

Most Tape In applications are 1.5-2.5 hours including shampoo, blow-dry, application, blending cut, & style.

  • Approximate Hair Cost: Depends on desired result.

    • You will keep the same hair for 6-8 months with proper home care & maintenance, so you will not need new hair every visit.

Hand - Tied or Weft Extensions

  • This is a semi-permanent technique ideal for a client looking for a transformation of length, density, & color enhancement.

This application consists of placing a row of silicone lined metal beads at the root of your hair to create a place to attach the extension wefts.

Multiple wefts of hair (picture a clothesline of hair) are pinned in place & sewn around the beads to attach the extension hair to your natural hair.

Each application is different based on your goals & natural hair. Typically an application will consist of 1-3 rows with 3-4 wefts on each row.

  • Ordering hair takes about 5-7 days with the option to do rush shipping if needed.

Most Hand-Tied Initial Applications take 2-3 hours & Maintenance Applications take 1.5-2.5 hours.

Before & Afters

Extension FAQS

  • Like normal! You want to be gentle with shampooing around the bonds & be sure to scrub horizontally with grain of the bond.

I recommend always using sulfate free shampoo & a clarifying shampoo once a week to remove excess build up.

Swap out your conditioner to a lightweight mask & only use it from the ponytail section to the ends (not on the scalp near the bonds). Your extensions will need more moisture than your natural hair.

I highly recommend a shower cap for non-wash days, Dry Shampoo to use throughout the week, & a satin scrunchie or pillowcase to minimize frizz.

  • Like normal, with a few minor adjustments.

    • Use a detangling product to comb out your hair. Hold the bond while you brush with a Wet Brush or wide tooth comb.

    • Add other styling products & be sure to use a Heat Protectant EVERY TIME. It will keep your natural & extension hair healthy.

    • I like to clip up my natural hair above the extensions & start drying those first (they take longer to dry).

    • Be sure to dry the bond of the extensions 100% dry to avoid matting & product build up.

    • DO NOT go to bed with wet extensions, wet hair is heavy so it will put excess weight on your natural hair & potentially cause damage.

    • Apply a lightweight clear oil every day to your extensions especially on non-wash days it will keep your ends fresh & the hair lasting longer.

    • You can use any other hot tools as normal; you can typically use a lower heat setting because the hair curls up very well!

    • Blow-Dryer Round Brushes are great but be sure to get your hair about 80% dry with your blow dryer before using them. Otherwise it takes a long time to dry.

  • I would only recommend professional products for extension hair. It’s high-quality hair that needs high-quality products.

It’s also a coarser texture so overall it needs more moisture to stay healthy.

Avoid sulfates (mainly in shampoos) they can fade the color.

Only use purple shampoos that I recommend to avoid staining your extensions. Many are also very drying on your hair.

  • I proudly partner with brands who ethically source their hair - EasiHairPro, Bellami, & Aqua. This is extremely important to me.

The main source of their hair comes from India, where women are paid to grow out their hair before it is cut, treated, & manufactured into extensions.

  • Not to worry! Color or Blonding is typically always needed at some point with extensions. Haircuts are maintained when we first apply the extensions & as needed with move up appointments.

Most of the time we will color before the frist application then alternate between color maintenance & extensions maintenance to avoid a 5-6 hour day in the salon unless it fits your schedule better to do it all in one visit.

  • Yes! There are options depending on how tight your curl pattern is, I will recommend wavy extensions for you from Bellami. However, most of the hair I work with is straight so you are able to style it into your curl pattern as needed.

If you have a texture that is more suitable for another extension method, I will refer you to another artist who specializes in braided sew in wefts or micro link extensions.
